Biodiverse Society – Blog April 2017

Release date:  Fri, 07/04/2017 (All day) Summary:  February was the shortest month of the year... but our Biodiverse Society trainees still managed to pack plenty into the 28 days. Our Merseyside trainee Johnny Pescod explains... This February the gang have been busy obtaining landowner permissions for the sites they will be surveying later this year. This task has proved more of a challenge than expected, with contact details for private sites requiring some detective efforts. Despite the paperwork and sleuthing, we escaped the office fairly often to continue the practical aspects of our training, including a fresh list of plant species to identify. read more...

Great Easter Eggcase Hunt

Date / Time Start date:  Mon, 10/04/2017 - 2:00pm - 3:30pm At least 21 species of skate, ray and shark are found in UK waters and as some species will lay eggs all year round, it's time to go on an egg hunt! We will be heading down to the beach to find out what species might have been laying their eggs in the Irish Sea.
